The head of the Russian representative office of Amnesty International Sergei Nikitin announced that he intends to leave his post in may, his successor should start working from June 1.

«It’s time to tell the wider circles of friends and acquaintances that in may 2017, I intend to retire, that is, to leave his post of head of the representative office of Amnesty International in Russia», — said Nikitin on his page in Facebook.

«From June 1, 2017, we hope to see in the Moscow office of the new head of the office, what today we inform a respectable audience,» — said Nikitin.

He also urged «everyone, who feels her or his talents are needed in Amnesty International, to apply» for the post of head of the mission.

Amnesty International — international non-governmental organization founded in the UK in 1961. On its website says its mission «is to conduct research and to adopt measures aimed at the prevention and elimination of gross violations of human rights».
