Iranian Director Asghar Farhadi won the prize of the film award «Oscar» for best foreign film at the Cannes film festival for his film «the Salesman», according to the associated Press on Thursday.

The prize Farhadi presented in the framework of the Cannes film festival after the Director boycotted the award ceremony of the film award «Oscar» in February. He announced a boycott due to the fact that the President of the United States Donald trump proposed to prohibit the entry of nationals from several countries, including Iran.

In his speech during the presentation of awards Farhadi noted that Cannes is a place «where cultures speak to each other».
