The main merit of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin over the past year the Russians have called for strong political position and actions in the international arena, stating that the activities of the President on the third term of presidency will meet their expectations, follows from the data of the survey of the public opinion Foundation (FOM) published on Friday.

According to published data, 9% of respondents named Putin’s actions in the international arena and strong political position, the main merit of the President over the past year, and 5% of respondents said that they liked Putin’s decision in the social sphere. In addition, the merit of the President the Russians have considered a military operation in Syria, the annexation and development of Crimea, policy towards Ukraine, assistance to other countries, strengthening the country’s defense and noted his specific speeches and statements.

According to FOM, in the list of not any Russians of the President’s actions included the low level of people’s lives (7%), unresolved economic problems, lack of control over the observance of laws, insufficient attention to domestic policy issues.

In General, speaking about the activities of the President, 63% of respondents said that Putin’s work corresponds to what they expected in 2012, otherwise stated 24% of Russians.

According to the FOM, 42% of Russians believe that during the third term, Putin is doing his job better than in the previous two presidential terms of work, 35% consider that the initial level of performance is maintained, and 16% said that the President was worse to cope with their responsibilities, than in the first two terms.

According to the survey, 32% of respondents believe that serious changes in the country (for better or worse) due to the activities of Vladimir Putin; 30% of respondents believe that positive changes occur thanks to the President, and for the worse — due to not dependent reasons; and 21% believe that major changes occur in the country in force beyond Putin’s reasons.

In addition, more than half of respondents (52%) said that the President acts, guided by the opinion of the citizens, and 37% expressed the view that the opinion of citizens for the President is not the most important.

Answering the question about «Putin’s team», the majority of respondents (85%) expressed the opinion that the President has «his team», and 8% of respondents hold the opposite point of view. Also 54% of respondents believe that the President affect the decisions, the absence of such effect expressed by 29% of respondents. Among those influencing the decision of the President, in particular, the Russians was named Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, the head of «Rosneft» Igor Sechin.
