Participants in the Moscow half marathon were 20 thousand people, they ran the distance from three to 21.1 kilometers, the official portal of the mayor of Moscow on Monday.

The race took place in the Russian capital on may 21. Last year at the start of the half marathon in Moscow, there were 8 thousand people, making it the most mass in Russia.

The race was held on a scenic route through the city sights — St. Basil’s Cathedral, Cathedral of Christ the Savior and the Kremlin.

The winner of the race of 21 kilometers was Iskander Yadgarov from Moscow, who covered the distance in 1 hour, 4 minutes and 10 seconds. Second went to Oleg Grigoryev from Saratov — 1 hour 6 minutes and 40 seconds, third place was taken by the Muscovite Vasily Permitin with result 1 hour 6 minutes, 51 seconds.

In women, the best time showed a resident of St. Petersburg, Louise Dmitrieva.

This year, the Moscow half marathon became part of the First all-Russian marathon «In Running» — runs for a distance of 21.1 kilometer were held on Sunday across the country: in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-don, Kazan, Samara, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok.
