At least five people were killed and 67 were injured in an explosion at an ammunition depot in the Sudan, reports Agence France-Presse.

According to the Agency, the explosion occurred at an ammunition depot in the city of Nyala. According to the representative of the army of the Sudan, the cause of the explosion was «an incident with electricity» and now «efforts to fight the fire.» Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion caused panic among local residents, some of them left their homes.

A source in the hospital said that the condition of some of the 67 wounded is estimated as heavy.
