The Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova supports the possible introduction of a legislative ban on the participation of minors in the protests.

Earlier, the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that the Federation Council could discuss the possibility of adopting a law banning students and other minors to participate in protests, particularly unsanctioned. As said Matvienko in interview «news», «family, teachers, parent committees, the authorities should think how to avoid it».

«I support its General thesis and attempt to develop additional mechanisms and tools in order to prevent the participation of minors in the protests,» — said Moskalkova.

She noted that in the Russian legislation there are a number of restrictions, intended to «raise the level of safety of minors». «People who have not yet matured in their political beliefs should not become an object of manipulation and provocation,» says the Ombudsman.
