Russia at the international exhibition «EXPO-2017» in Astana, the pavilion will focus on the Arctic theme and green energy, said the General Commissioner of the Russian section of the exhibition, Deputy Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov at a press conference at the international multimedia press center MIA «Russia today».

According to Kalamanov, the Russian pavilion will contain almost all the topics related to energy. Will be based on areas related to nuclear energy and renewable sources of energy: solar, wind and hydropower.

«It is also very important that we want to develop a theme of the Arctic… the Arctic is not from the point of view of the region, which is associated with the environment, but also with the fact that the Arctic is, we believe, for the future base for production of energy. I believe that this balance, which we need to survive in the Arctic between environmental and development and production of hydrocarbons and other energy sources — it will be the most important for the near future», — said Kalamanov.

International specialized exhibition «EXPO-2017» will be held in Kazakhstan from June 10 to September 10 2017. The event will showcase the latest achievements of science in the development of «green» energy.

In February, in an interview with RIA Novosti Kalamanov told that «EXPO-2017» will be attended by such large Russian companies as «Rosatom», «rosseti», «Transneft», NOVATEK, URALCHEM, Uralkali, Norilsk Nickel, «Hevel», «Rotek», «Uralvagonzavod». According to him, the Russian pavilion is one of the largest expositions at the exhibition: about a thousand square meters on the first level and about the same on the second level.
