The threat of terrorist attacks in France is very high, said Prime Minister of France Edouard Philippe.

«The terrorist threat remains at a very high level,» said Philip, following the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which discussed, in particular, the consequences of a terrorist attack in British Manchester.

The Prime Minister noted that the authorities intend to maintain border control security in the national territory.

Earlier it was reported that the state of emergency in France may be extended to November 1, the government will soon have to prepare new measures to strengthen security in the face of terrorist threats.

The state of emergency was introduced on the initiative of ex-President Francois Hollande after the terrorist attacks in Paris and has been extended three times. The twentieth of July the French Senate (upper house of Parliament) endorsed the bill to extend the period of validity of state of emergency in the country for six months. Later the state of emergency was extended until July 15.

The attack in Manchester took place on Monday evening during a concert by American singer Ariana Grande. Undermining was carried out by a suicide bomber. According to the latest data, 22 people are killed, about 120 were injured. In addition, several teenagers missing. Responsibility for explosion was assumed by the terrorist group ISIS (banned in Russia).
