20 police officers were suspended from work in cancún for failure to render aid to Russian Alexei Makeeva, whose house was attacked by a crowd of outraged Mexicans, said Tuesday the representative of the urban Ministry of public security Alejandro rodríguez Cepeda.

According to Rodriguez, the decision was made due to the fact that police officers (19 men and one woman) just left the scene when the crowd began to storm the house Makeyev. Now 12 of them have already testified before the Department of own safety. Also the investigation is carried out against the people who recorded the beatings on video and then posted on the Internet.

The Russian Consul in Mexico city Dmitry Bolbot told RIA Novosti that Makeev likely to be detained immediately upon release from the hospital where is undergoing treatment in the case of the death of a young Mexican, who died from stab wounds. Now the state Makeyev stable, although due to head injuries it is not working the left side of the body.
