The first Russian exhibition of works of the Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi «Gaudi. Barcelona» will take place in Moscow Museum of modern art (MMOMA) from 24 may to 10 September, according to the website of the Museum.

The exhibition will be held in the year of the 165th anniversary of the birthday of the architect.

«The project aims to trace the artistic path of Gaudi, noting the most notable engineering achievements of the architect, during his lifetime, and his influence on modern culture as a whole», — is spoken in the message of the Museum site.

The exhibition will bring together more than 150 objects from the collections of state institutions of Spain and private collections: from plans and drawings student of Gaudi and furniture from the House Calvet, decorative tiles from Park güell in the late period of creativity of the author. An important component of the project were 20 photographs of buildings designed by Gaudi, presented at the first exhibition in Paris in 1910.

The MMOMA exhibition is divided into five thematic parts: it begins with the biography of the architect and rare video about the life of the author. Next sections will be devoted to its most famous architectural experiments, including St. Theresa school, the Palace and Park güell, Casa Vicens, Casa batlló. The next section will tell about the friendship and collaboration of the architect with the chief patron of Gaudi, Eusebi Guell. Complete exposure mapping of the Crypt of colònia güell to the Cathedral Sagrada família.

To assess the influence of Antonio Gaudi at the architecture of Moscow and test yourself on the knowledge of the history of art Nouveau will be using a unique interactive quest, a route which was created by the curator of the exhibition, a team of Museum and Street Adventure.

The Project «Antonio Gaudi. Barcelona» was a continuation of the program of the INSTITUTE for the implementation of large-scale international exhibitions, as well as the result of cultural cooperation between Russia and Spain.
