The new Pushkin prize for creative contribution to Russian culture will be awarded to the poet Ivan Zhdanov and artist Boris Messerer on Friday at the State Museum of A. S. Pushkin, the press service of the event.

The new Pushkin prize was established in 2005 by Fund of Alexander Zhukov, the State Museum of A. S. Pushkin Museum reserve «Mikhailovskoe». The Chairman of the Board award is the writer Andrei Bitov. Solemn ceremony of rewarding of winners will take place this year already for the 13th time.

«For cumulative creative contribution to Russian culture» prize was awarded to the poet Ivan Zhdanov and artist Boris Messerer (book «Promelec Bella. A romantic chronicle», Moscow, 2016). The monetary amount of each will be 200 thousand rubles. The prize this year is awarded with the financial participation of Vladimir Zharov,» — said the press service.

In addition, the Council of the award will celebrate a special diploma «For service to the history of Russian literature» Director of the Museum-estate «Ostafyevo» — «Russian Parnassus» Anatoly korshikova.

The first winner of the New Pushkin prize in 2005, was a scholar of Russian and Western literature Sergey Bocharov. Also winners in different years became writers Vyacheslav Pyetsukh and Dmitry Novikov, the poets Gleb Gorbovsky and Victor Colla, translator Vera Milchina, critic Valeria Pustovaya and others.
