The annual festival «Intermuseum» will unite in the space of «Manezh» about 350 museums from Russia and 25 countries of the near abroad, participants and guests of the event will extensive business and cultural program.

«Intermuseum» is an annual festival that brings together on one platform more than 300 museums from Russia, CIS and far abroad. It is organized by the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, held since 1999. This year the festival will be held from 25 to 29 may.

«This year in the festival «Intermuseum» will participate 348 museums, it will be part of more than 350 events of all kinds. The participants of the festival of museums from Russia and from 25 countries of near and far abroad», — said the first Deputy Minister of culture Vladimir Aristarkhov at the press conference dedicated to the event.

The main theme of the festival, the organizers announced the «Museum of the future». This idea the participants had to use in the design of the stand to show how they see themselves and the world in the future.

According to the results of the competition were determined 20 finalists. According to the Chairman of the jury, Director of the Historical Museum Alexey Levykin, the jury selected the best projects in the research activities in the field of Museum education, information technology, and projects aimed at social interaction.

The nominees included the State Hermitage Museum, State Tretyakov gallery, the Pushkin Museum named after A. S. Pushkin, Museum-estate «Yasnaya Polyana», the State historical Museum and other museums — Metropolitan and regional. The winner will be determined on the last day of the festival.

In the framework of the «Intermuseum» will take place on numerous round tables, discussions and briefings on the organization of Museum work, the future of museums in the modern world, as well as master classes and presentations.

This year the festival expanded its geography. The programme includes activities not only in Syria but also in other areas. Lectures and creative meetings will take place in the halls of the nearby museums: the State Historical Museum, the Museum of architecture named Shchusev and the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
