Russian students won 4 prizes out of 12 at the prestigious world championship on programming (ACM ICPC), which ended on may 25 at rapid city (South Dakota, USA).

This year, ITMO University became the absolute champion for the seventh time, deciding faster all 10 tasks out of 12. The gold was also won by the team of St. Petersburg state University, finishing in fourth place. Silver medal for 5th place was won by the MIPT team, and bronze went to the team from the Ural Federal University (10th place).

ACM ICPC is one of the main world student championship in programming, which is held under the auspices of the Association for computing machinery (ACM) since 1977. Winning it is considered one of the most honorable awards of the computer. This year the championship has been involved more than 300,000 students from around the world (including qualifying rounds in universities). The finale came up 133 teams, including 13 teams from Russia. Our country wins in the championship ACM ICPC since the beginning of the century 12 times, alternately become the winners of the St. Petersburg state University and ITMO University.
