Ukraine plans to discontinue railway passenger communication with Russia from 1 July, writes the newspaper «Kommersant» with reference to sources in Kiev.

According to a source close to the government of Ukraine, the pretext for this is the reluctance of the Railways «to stop passenger transportation in Russia from the ATO and, in particular, from Donetsk, which violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.» Now from Donetsk to Taganrog runs the train and the fare is 17 roubles.

State administration of railway transport «Ukrzaliznytsya» publication said that «no decision on this matter at the moment pending». In turn, the Russian Railways «Kommersant» said that he had not received from Kiev any documents on the termination of passenger service.

«Plans to suspend passenger transportation has not yet officially confirmed neither in Kiev nor in Moscow. However, the Ukrainian interlocutors «» insist that the solution to «actively lobby» the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, rigid position which in recent years have increasingly supported the President Poroshenko», — stated in the article.

This topic is not the first time in the media spotlight. Some time ago, Ren-TV reported that from July almost all of the formulations of Ukraine will cease to go to Russia, many of them will invest in the countries of the European Union. Then in the Railways said it had not received official notification of the termination of passenger service, denied the information and «Ukrzaliznytsya».

Now between the two countries there are no direct trains Russian formation. «Federal passenger company» (FPC, «daughter» RZD) after the events of spring 2014 have been forced to gradually reduce the number of trains on the Ukrainian routes. At the end of the same year they abolished because of the decrease in passenger traffic. There was only one transit train FPC, as well as trains of Ukrainian Railways and railway administrations of the CIS countries.
