Mineral resource base in the Amur region is estimated at more than $ 319 billion, making the region attractive for investors in China, primarily for the border Heilongjiang province, said at the opened Friday in Blagoveshchensk international «Amurexpoforum» a representative of the Far East to attract and support export (structure of Ministry) George fotin.

Unique geography and mineral-resource base

On Friday in Blagoveshchensk launched the international exhibition-fair «Amurexpoforum», which is held since 1992. This time it gathered more than 120 participants from Russia and China, and in 2018, the event plan to make simultaneous Russian and Chinese banks.

This year the forum was held a presentation of trade-economic cooperation of the Amur region and Heilongjiang province, in which were fotin. He said that among the attractive features of the Amur region is a unique geographical location and the current visa-free regime between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. These circumstances allow you to bet on the development of tourism. In 2016 the number of tourists from China to Amur oblast was second only to Moscow and Vladivostok.

«The mineral resource base of the region presents significant reserves of gold, coal, iron ore, Nickel, total cost more than 319 billion US dollars, and the proximity to the largest consumers, China is an obvious advantage,» said fotin, stressing that the Ministry allocates grants for the construction of external infrastructure for major projects.

According to Fotina, one of the most promising development areas in the region — oil and gas.

«I mean projects of Gazprom for the construction of the Amur gas processing plant with design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year, the Amur gas-chemical complex. Also in the region, a project for the production of methanol group UST with a capacity of 1.2 million tons of methanol per year,» said fotin. In his opinion, the presence of this raw material base will allow to develop in the field of «further process stages with higher added value based on the cluster principle».

In turn, Deputy Director of development Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang province man Lin confirmed that the projects for petrochemical an interesting PRC.

«The share of Heilongjiang province is approximately 1/4 of China’s trade turnover with Russia, 1/3 of the total volume of Chinese investments in Russia», — said the man Lin.

Soy, wheat, and honey for China

According to Fotina, annual food exports to China exceed 100 billion U.S. dollars, the demand for Russian products in the PRC consistently high.

According to the Annunciation of customs, in the first quarter of 2017, the value of exported goods amounted to 27.3 million dollars. Of this amount, 72.5 per cent — to 19.8 million US dollars — made food products and agricultural raw materials. 7 million U.S. dollars of exported wood and paper products, and 243 thousands of U.S. dollars chemical products.

«In the export of foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials were dominated by soybeans, wheat, flour, honey, chocolate and chocolate products», — told RIA Novosti press-service of the Blagoveshchensk customs.

Sweets, including the famous chocolate «Alenka», dairy products and sausage, most likely, better luck next year, entrepreneurs of the Amur region to China.

«Due to the unique climatic conditions of the Amur region and the high demand for Russian food in China, in the region promising to develop projects for the cultivation of soybeans, corn, wheat, poultry meat production, pork,» said fotin.

From trade to investment cooperation

The next step in the development of relations should be the transition from trade to investment cooperation. Such examples, in addition to the main gas pipeline «Power of Siberia», which in 2019 will start direct gas supplies to China via Blagoveshchensk, already there.

«Last year in the top «Amur» was introduced cement plant, built with Chinese investments. In the top Belogorsk built the first phase of the plant for deep processing of soybean. Modern equipment purchased in China. Here already released the first two products — soy oil and soy meal. Part of processed products — soybean oil — already available in China,» — said on the «Amurexpoforum» Minister of economic development of the Amur region Svetlana Belova.

According to her, by 2020, in the Amur region the Amur gas processing plant will be started and a plant for methanol production, by 2025 — gas chemical complex, production of these companies is partially aimed at consumers in China.
