The defense Ministry has awarded journalists-winners of all-Russian festival press «Media-As-2017», the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

In the final stage of the festival was attended by 47 of the winners of the district round and about 140 journalists from the capital region. Assessment took into account the level of professionalism, the relevance of the topic and expressiveness of the presentation. Winners announced in nine categories.

In the category «Best shots» (for a series of reports from Syria) the awards were presented to Denis Fedorenkov, special correspondent of TV channel «Zvezda», and Dmitry Petrov, special correspondent of TV channel «Russia 1», the author of the series of reports on the activities of the Russian armed forces.

The best news journalists in the nomination «Lightning», which assesses the work of the Agency, Svetlana became Free – the first Deputy Director of the main Directorate of information of the international news Agency «Russia today», and Paul Koryashkin – Deputy chief editor of the information Agency «Interfax». The victory in the nomination «Command voice» for the best radio programme was won by Igor Rifleman, host of «Man with a gun» radio station «Mayak». The best in the nomination «Power of words», which is awarded for the best material in the print media, became the editors of the journal «Military».

The journalist from the Crimea to Julia Rosenberg, who is the author and presenter of the program «Aty-Baty» at the Simferopol TV channel ITV, the award in the category «Breakthrough» for the best debut. The most vigilant military photographer in the category «Main caliber» of the jury found the press photographer of TASS Sergey Bobylev.

The winner of the all-Russian annual award named after Vitaly Djibouti «For the courage, objectivity and professionalism in covering military matters», which is awarded for the fifth consecutive year was Sergey Valchenko – editor of news Agency editorial portal «Rambler».

The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the «Media-As-2017» was held on Thursday evening at the National control centre defense of the Russian Federation. It was attended by the leadership of the defense Ministry of Russia, chief editors of the Central TV channels and print publications, politicians, athletes and public figures.
