Held in Saransk matches of world football championship in 2018 will be a historic event and will contribute to improving the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Mordovia, said the acting head of the Republic Vladimir Volkov.

According to the press service of the head of the region, wolves on Thursday discussed with representatives of the business community preparing for the world Cup.

«Holding the world football championship will be a historic event for the Republic, will strengthen the image of Mordovia Republic as one of the most recognizable regions of the country, to improve investment attractiveness of the area for international and domestic business community», — said the acting head of the Republic, whose words are reported.

However, he noted that the success of the championship will largely depend on what you will see and remember the city’s foreign visitors and residents of the Russian regions.
According to him, the organizing Committee of the FIFA puts certain requirements on the improvement of the city. So to the owners of non-residential premises the challenge now is to put in order the facades of their buildings and the surrounding area. First of all, it concerns the enterprises of trade and supply.

Volkov said that he expects the municipal authorities and the business community-coordinated work during the construction season this year to bring the building into the proper form.

The acting head of Mordovia, also reported that this year needs to be put into operation almost all year. In particular, it is planned to complete the construction of the stadium, the airport, the two hotels to renovate pedestrian bridges at stations in Saransk and Ruzayevka, he said.

World Cup 2018 will be held from 14 June to 15 July at 12 stadiums in 11 cities of Russia: Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-don.
