Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree providing for the launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome spacecraft scientific purposes Sentinel 5-P, a document published Saturday on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

«Allow the defense Ministry to use on a contractual basis space systems and complexes for military purposes and to attract personnel of military units to launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome carrier rocket «Rokot» spacecraft for scientific purposes «the sentinel-5P» (European space Agency),» — said in the text of the document.

As noted in reference to the signed document approved a set of measures on carrying out of start Sentinel 5-P from Baikonur. In particular, it provides the services with the involvement of forces and means of the Ministry of defense of Russia, the admission of foreign specialists associated with the launch facilities.

The satellite Sentinel 5-P manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and will be used to obtain data on the composition of the global atmosphere study climate and air quality. After the launch of Sputnik into orbit it will be listed on the national register of the European space Agency.

It is noted that all of the work to ensure the launch of Sentinel 5-P will be made from extrabudgetary sources.
