The Prime Minister of the Bolshoi ballet, Denis Rodkin before the opening of the «Russian Seasons», said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the performances in a country such as Japan, are always associated with great responsibility.

«Russian seasons» – the continuation of traditions established in the early XX century, Sergei Diaghilev, launched in February. In the framework of the project best performances of the Russian groups will be shown in Japan and the far Eastern region of Russia. The Ministry of culture plans to undertake during the year more than 200 events in more than 45 cities of Japan. The Bolshoi ballet opens this year’s «Russian Seasons» in Japan. May 4 will be the first performances of «Giselle», where the main roles, Svetlana Zakharova and Rodkin.

«To come to Japan is always a big responsibility. Here is a very sophisticated and spoiled in the good sense of the audience. This audience saw the best ballet troupes, here are the world stars, different private companies. Awareness of the Japanese public in our art is large enough. And so if some, even a small false or nettancourt, the Japanese audience will feel it,» said Rodkin.

According to the actor, «when you go to Japan, every time and at every performance it is necessary to prove that Russian ballet is the best in the world.»

This year while on tour in Japan, a Large theatre will present three ballets — «Giselle» and «Swan lake» staged by the outstanding Russian choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, as well as «the Flames of Paris» choreography by Alexei Ratmansky.
