The decision of Chisinau on the expulsion of five Russian diplomats from Moldova aimed at disrupting the emerging progress in bilateral relations associated with the advent of the post of the President Igor Dodon, told RIA Novosti on Monday the head of the international Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

«The details have yet to understand, but much like the ongoing struggle between the presidential and governmental branches of government,» — said Kosachev.

He stressed that the decision was taken by the government is a feature of the state system of Moldova.

«This decision, apparently aimed at disrupting the emerging progress in Russian-Moldovan relations associated with the advent to the position of President of Dodona,» — said he.

The Senator stressed that this decision is regrettable «as manifestly ill-founded and clearly unfriendly step».
