Iraqi Kurdistan at the St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF) will ask Russia to invest in its oil and gas facilities, wrote in a Wednesday newspaper «Izvestia» with reference to the political adviser of the Vice-President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Dera Amin.

«Erbil wants to encourage Moscow to begin to invest more in the oil and gas industry of Kurdistan. It will also discuss the issues of deepening of economic ties,» — leads edition the words of Amin.

In addition, according to a senior source, «Izvestia» in the Russian and Kurdish diplomatic circles, the parties in the course of the forum will exchange views about the upcoming and Iraqi Kurdistan referendum on independence.

Earlier, the Russian foreign Ministry reported that Lavrov will hold on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg international economic forum meeting with the Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan Barzani Nechervan.
