The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill on Friday will lead the Church celebration in the Tver region, dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the uncovering of the relics of Reverend nil Stolobensky, will make a celebratory Liturgy and consecrate the Volga, said to RIA Novosti, at the Patriarchal press service.

The celebration of the 350th anniversary of the uncovering of the relics of the Saint of the XVI century are held in the Tver Archdiocese from 8 to 12 June. In addition to the festive divine services in the Nilo-Stolobenskaya desert and the Olga women monastery in the village of Volgoverkhovye planned discussion platform «Youth and Church» festival of choirs and program «Russian patterns». The event, held in a tent camp for pilgrims on the shore of lake Seliger.

The monastery of the Nilo-Stolobenskaya desert in Tver diocese is located on Stolobny island in lake Seliger and is the place where he worked the Reverend Neil Stolobensky, who lived in seclusion on the island for 27 years, until his death 7 Dec 1555. A monastery was founded here by the decree of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia job in 1594, the name of Reverend Nile gave the name of the monastery.

Since the beginning of the XIX century Nilo-Stolobenskaya Pustyn was one of the largest monasteries in Russia. «Before the revolution, the number of pilgrims, the monastery took first place in the Russian Orthodox world, second only to Church of the Holy Sepulchre», — reminded in the ROC.
