The President of Bulgaria rumen Radev will shortly hold a conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and invite him to the celebrations in honor of the 140th anniversary of the liberation of the country from the Ottoman yoke, which will be held in 2018.

«Soon I will have a conversation with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, and I’ll invite him to the celebration of the 140th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria,» said Radev in an interview with BTV.

Radev said that he did not intend «to compromise with the story because of the obsession of a handful of deputies,» after the idea to invite to the celebration of the Russian leader caused the discontent of some politicians in the country, sharply opposed to Russia, including the former President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev.
