The Alexander column in St. Petersburg has become the object of cultural heritage

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on changes in the list of objects of cultural heritage of Federal importance.

According to the document, the new edition also presents the objects of the Kazan Kremlin of the XVI–XVII centuries, located in Veliky Novgorod, the Cathedral of the sign (1688) and the Znamensky monastery XVII–XVIII centuries, St. George’s monastery of the XII–XVIII centuries.

«In addition, the list includes the object of cultural heritage of Federal value «the Alexander column, 1830-1834 years» (Saint-Petersburg, Palace square) due to the fact that the authority for state conservation of cultural heritage, forming the Palace square in St. Petersburg assigned the Ministry of culture of Russia,» — added in the message.
