The majority of the members of the Supreme electoral court of Brazil on Friday voted against the resignation of the President Michel Temer.

Of the seven judges for the resignation voted three against four. The meeting went on live local television.

The court heard the case on illegal financing campaign in 2014, when the President was elected Dilma Rousseff and Temer were with her to the polls as a contender for the Vice presidency. In the end, these accusations are rejected by the court.

If the court found these violations, the results of those elections could be declared invalid, and the Temer – deprived presidential mandate. However, Temer even in this case, it would be enough time to appeal the court’s decision.
