The Russian delegation was not allowed to Kharkiv in the UEFA Boxing

Part of the Russian delegation, which included the boxer George Kushitashvili, was not allowed to Ukraine, informed the Agency «R-Sport» the head of Department on work with mass media and public relations of Federation of Boxing Russia (FBI) Natalia Tokmagashev.

European championship Boxing kicks off in Kharkiv on June 16. This tournament is a qualifier for the world Championships to be held in Hamburg from 25 August to 3 September.

According to Tokmagashev, except Kushitashvili, problems at the border originated from the press-attache of the FBI Vlada Romanova, as well as two journalists and several fans who went to the delegation.

«It all happened without an explanation of the reasons for the arrest, asking only the questions — in particular, the press attaché asked on what basis she was a few years ago was in the Crimea», — said the employee of the Federation.

Tokmagashev said that the Boxing Federation of Ukraine has given assurances that the Russian delegation will be able to enter the territory of the country in full force. Similar assurances athletes was received from the President of the European Boxing Confederation Franco Falcinelli.

Later it became known that all detainees on the border of Russians deported from Ukraine.

Former head coach of the men’s team of Russia on Boxing Alexander lebzjak said that Kushitashvili was one of the contenders for the gold medal of the European championship.

«The issue of replacing the boxer must decide the management of Federation of Boxing of Russia. There is still time, today is just the day of your arrival,» said the coach.
