. The number of textbooks used in Russian education in the near future will decline sharply, and their content will become more sophisticated, told RIA Novosti the head of the Ministry Olga Vasilyeva.

«I think we will soon come to a balanced decision and a list of books will decline sharply and become more consistent, modern and classical ideas about the world, science and Russia», — said Vasilyev.

On Thursday, the Director of the school from the village Krasnopilka Ulyanovsk region during the direct line, told President Vladimir Putin that some textbooks are not overage for five years and asked whether it is possible to extend their lifetime.
