TGK-16, a member of the group of companies «TAIF» has commissioned a unit at the Kazan CHP-3 power 405,6 MW, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

A new block was built within the complex modernization of the station. The contract for the modernization of Kazanskaya CHPP-3 TGK-16 and a subsidiary of General Electric company OOO «GE Rus» signed in April 2014. Investments in the modernization of TPP-3 amounted to 14 billion rubles, said General Director of JSC «TAIF» albert Shigabutdinov.

As explained by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, with the commissioning of new gas turbine CHP-3 was two times more effective than other available in the Republic stations. This helps to improve the reliability of power supply of consumers of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the competitiveness of the Republic in the electricity market.

After commissioning of the new power unit electric capacity of CHP-3 increased from 384,9 789,6 MW to MW, heat capacity — 1.9 thousand Gcal/h to 2.4 thousand Gcal/h, the potential annual electricity production from 1.3 billion kWh.h to 4.3 billion kWh.h.

The Kazan CHP-3 was commissioned in 1968. Until 2010, the organization entered into holding «Tatenergo», but since 2010 became part of TGK-16. CHP-3 provides heat and electricity to the industrial enterprises, in particular, OAO «Kazanorgsintez», and the residential sector of Kazan.
