The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has informed that has approved the scheme of placing of objects of electric power industry of the Russian Federation until 2035.

«From large documents I also approved the General scheme of placing of objects of electric power industry, it is designed to 2035. This large, basic document,» — said Medvedev at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers of the Russian Federation.

As stated in the scheme, published on the website of the Cabinet, the installed capacity of power plants in the zone of centralized power of Russia at the beginning of 2016 amounted to 243,2 GW. Of which the share of nuclear power plants (NPP) accounted for 11.2 per cent, hydropower plants (HPP) is 20.8%, TPP — 67,6%, in power plants based on renewable energy sources (RES) is 0.4%.

In the scheme for the long-term forecast of the industry development is presented in two versions — basic and minimal. The baseline scenario suggests that by 2035, the increase in electricity consumption in Russia to 1345,2 billion kWh.h, average annual consumption growth at 1.3%. In the minimal variant, the projected increase in consumption to 1275,3 billion kWh.h, the average annual growth of consumption at the 1% level.

Exporting electricity in the future up to 2035 projected in the base case 11.7 billion kWh.h, at least at the level of 10.7 billion kW.h. Additionally there is the option of increasing exports of electric energy up to 50 billion kW.h due to the expansion of supply on the Asian direction.

The total installed capacity of power plants in 2035 will be in the implementation of the basic version 264,1 GW (65% TPP, 20,6% — hydro, 13.4% of plants, 1% — RES), the implementation of minimum option — 251,7 GW (65% of TES, accounting for 21.3% hydro, 12.5% nuclear, 1.1 per cent renewable energy). Total investment in the sector up to 2035 is projected under the baseline scenario at the level to 12.9 trillion rubles (12,1 trillion rubles for the generation facilities and 0.8 trillion rubles in the electric grid infrastructure). In the minimum scenario to 11.1 trillion rubles (10,3 trillion roubles for the generation and 0.8 trillion rubles on the grid).
