The summit of heads of governments of the Visegrad four and the Benelux countries will be held on Monday in Warsaw.

As expected, the summit participants will discuss such topics as the future of the EU, the negotiations with Britain about Brexit, the immigration crisis, a common policy of defense.

Quite complex discussion is expected on the adoption of the EU refugees. As previously reported, the European Commission has sent formal letters to the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary in the framework of the procedure which can lead to sanctions against the three countries in connection with the refusal to accept refugees, and in the course of a month awaiting a response from them.

As noted by the representative of the government of Poland Rafal Bochenek, meeting of heads of governments of Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, will be held at the initiative of the Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydlo. «The summit will raise to a higher political level of relations, which are still held at the level of Ministers of foreign Affairs,» he said.

According to Bochenek, the negotiations will also touch on economic issues, enhance the competitiveness of the European economy, as well as strengthening of the common market based on four freedoms.

«In the face of terrorist, cyber and hybrid threats will also be discussed common security policy and defence of the EU», — he said.

The culmination of the summit will be a ceremonial handover of the presidency of the visegrád group Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.
