Russia continues to provide financial assistance to Kyrgyzstan on a grant basis, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

«Notably, Russia continues to help the economy of Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, our financial support is mainly on a Pro Bono basis,» Putin said following Russian-Kyrgyzstani talks.

He stressed that successfully operates the Russian-Kyrgyz development Fund in the Charter capital of which Russia has invested $ 500 million.

«The Foundation funded 28 major projects on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. About 700 different projects were lent through the Kyrgyz commercial banks in the framework of the program of support of small and medium business in the amount exceeding 230 million dollars», — said Putin.

According to the Russian leader, to support the budget of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian side annually provides $ 30 million. «Starting in 2012, the total amount of such grants amounted to $ 255 million. Another $ 200 million was allocated to Russia for the purpose of adaptation of economy of Kyrgyzstan to the conditions of membership and the requirements of EurAsEC», — he stressed.

Putin added that significant investment into the country by Russian commercial structures.

«For example, the volume of investments «Gazprom» in modernisation of the Kyrgyz distribution system in the coming years will amount to 100 billion rubles. As a result, the level of gasification of the country should increase from the current 22% to 60%,» — said Putin.
