The number of pilgrims in the queue to the relics of St. Nicholas, who appealed for medical aid for the month amounted to more than 1.1 thousand people, reported RIA Novosti Deputy head of the Department of national policy and interregional relations of Moscow Konstantin Blazhenov.

Earlier in mass media appeared information that on June 20 appealed to doctors a record number of pilgrims – 130 people. However, the representative of the authorities of Moscow denied this information.

«Yesterday (June 20 — ed.) appealed to doctors 78 citizens. The relics of yesterday came almost 42 thousand people. And in turn quite a lot of elderly people,» said Blessed.

According to him, only from may 22 for medical assistance to more than 1,100 people, many of treatment were associated with poor health, but nothing serious. Also, the pilgrims who recently suffered a stroke, had asked the doctors to measure the pressure, the official said.

As of mid-day on 21 June, the average time spent in the queue to the relics, which starts from the metro station «Frunzenskaya» is 5 hours.

The relics of St. Nicholas for the first time in history brought to Russia. With may 21, they are in the temple of Christ the Savior. 22 may from 13.00 to him opened free access for pilgrims. Access to the relics is open daily until 12 July from 8.00 to 21.00.
