«Nord stream-2» will contribute to ensuring a reliable supply of gas will enhance the energy security of Europe, said the head of Royal Dutch Shell Ben van beurden during the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The project «Northern stream-2» involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. The new pipeline is planned to be build next to the «Nord stream». Shell, along with Engie, OMV, and Wintershall Uniper is a partner of «Gazprom» on realization of the project «Northern stream-2».

«From the point of view of Shell, the project «Northern stream-2″ will contribute to the reliable supply of gas in Northern Europe will increase Europe’s energy security, and the project will be implemented for the benefit of all parties,» — said the head of the company.

In the beginning of the meeting Putin said that he wants to discuss plans for future work Shell in Russia. «The company is represented in Russia are very wide. And we have a very good good Outlook and big plans. We will discuss with You,» — said Putin.
