Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko who has been convicted in Russia on the case of murder of Russian journalists in the Donbass, and pardoned by the decree of the President of Russia, believes that Kiev should not expect from US the «no free lethal weapons» and the resolution of problems of Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is in Washington with working visit, where on Tuesday met with the President of the United States Donald trump, Vice-President Mike Pence, Secretary Rex Tillerson, the Minister of defence James Mattis, the heads of the IMF and the world Bank. According to the White house, in the course of a short conversation, the two leaders discussed peaceful resolution of the conflict in the Donbass, reform and combating corruption in Ukraine. Poroshenko after the meeting said that he saw in US a reliable strategic partner. He also stated that he had received from trump’s assurances of the continued sanctions on Russia to implement the Minsk agreements. This Poroshenko at the meeting with Tillerson discussed «ways of providing defensive weapons» to Ukraine.

«Don’t expect any free of lethal weapons, because it leads to escalation of the conflict, this is understandable. Solid support — Yes, of course. And when the Americans didn’t support us? Always firmly supported… So the sanctions (by the US against Russia will have — ed) solely to the extent in which they will benefit America. So do not expect that someone with your hands will solve our problems for us,» said Savchenko in comments to television channel «112. Ukraine» on Wednesday.
