The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that he had received from his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian invitation to visit Paris.

«I think the conversation was very useful. My colleague asked me at a convenient time to visit Paris, so we don’t lose pace in the implementation of our presidents ‘ agreements reached at the meeting in Versailles,» said Lavrov at press conference following talks with foreign Minister of France in Moscow.

Responding to a question from French journalists, said the Russian Minister that after the meeting of Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron between Moscow and Paris will be warming, Lavrov proposed to solve it by himself.

«The question of whether to call the current stage of Russian-French relations warming, I would suggest you to answer it, after all you journalists. You have to analyze what is happening, assess the situation. Decide for yourself,» said Lavrov.

In turn, Le Drian thanked his counterpart for «substantive conversation» and «high quality» of bilateral relations.

«We have the basis for specific actions to advance in specific areas. I hope that this dialogue will continue in a constructive spirit. I hope that the next step will be our meeting in Paris,» he added.

The presidents of Russia and France Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel macron met at the end of may at Versailles.
