Policy of Serbia towards Russia will not change, said the former President, the head of the National Committee for cooperation with Russia and China, Tomislav Nikolic.

«The policy of Serbia did not change significantly. Serbia has long defined its priorities: political, friendship, economic. Serbia is trying literally the whole world to insert into those priorities,» said Nikolic at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.

He noted that friendly relations with Russia will remain, and other countries retain the respect and the trust that «people from the West often can’t understand.»

«I’m not President anymore, so I can openly talk about it,» said he.

Dmitry Rogozin announced earlier on Friday to meet with the new President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

«We discussed economic issues, how do we build on the work in accordance with the formation of your new government, briefly reviewed the results of previous years», — said Rogozin.
