More than half of Russians (53%) believe that within the next year, the situation in the East of Ukraine will not change, follows from the data of the survey «Levada-center».

Almost a quarter of respondents (23%) believes that the situation will deteriorate and a minority of respondents to the question (10%) that will improve. While 14% did not answer the question

More than two thirds of the respondents (78%) assess the current situation in the East of Ukraine as tense, critical and explosive, and 9% consider it safe and tranquil.

Half of the respondents said that Russia and Ukraine should be independent but friendly States with open borders without visas and customs. According to 9% of respondents, countries should unite in one state.

The specialists of «Levada-center» on 19-22 may interviewed 1,600 people over 18 years of 137 communities of the country. The margin of error with a probability of 0.95% does not exceed 3.4%, said the sociologists.
