The Finance Ministry on Friday officially announced completion of placing of new releases of Eurobonds of the Russian Federation in the international market.

«The Ministry of Finance of Russia informs about the completion of the settlement (closing) for new issues of bonds of external bonded loans of the Russian Federation maturing in 10 and 30 years in $ 1 and $ 2 billion respectively,» – stated in the message of the Ministry.

«As a result of the placement of new issues of Eurobonds fully implemented market part of the programme of state foreign borrowings of the Russian Federation in 2017, envisaging attraction of new borrowings», — said the Ministry of Finance.

The total program of external borrowings of the Russian Federation for the current year is 7 billion rubles, of which the Ministry of Finance planned to attract new loans for $ 3 billion, and to exchange old issues of securities at new for another $ 4 billion. Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that an exchange operation can take place closer to the fall.

«Despite the increased volatility of market conditions caused by the news of the extension by the US authorities of sanctions against Russia, and a marked decline in oil prices and the ruble exchange rate, investors from different regions of the world showed a steady and significant demand for new Russian bonds», — stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance.

The total volume of the order book more than doubled the volume and left more than $ 6.6 billion. Applications were received from more than 200 investors. In the total volume of placed bonds, the proportion of investors from the US accounted for 32%, UK 31% continental Europe 15%, Asia 14%. The funds and management company bought 60% of the issue, banks 24%, insurance companies – 16%.
