The Russian Federation is ready to resume bilateral consultations, the channel Russia-US, Ukraine in addition to the «Norman” format, but Moscow has not yet received a concrete response from Washington, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

As the Minister said, previously, there was a two-way channel USA-Russia at the level of representatives of the state Department and the presidential administration of the Russian Federation for discussion of the settlement of the situation in Ukraine. He added that such bilateral channels of Washington existed and with Berlin and Paris and Kiev.

«In the current situation we, when we had (Secretary of state) Rex Tillerson in April, when I was in Washington and met with (U.S. President) Donald trump and Rex Tillerson in may of this year, we are in the discussion of the Ukrainian crisis confirmed our readiness to resume this two-way channel, if the administration of Donald trump deem it appropriate. We thought this would be useful, but yet some concrete feedback on this our interest not received,» — said the head of the Russian foreign Ministry in an interview to Belarusian media.

Earlier, Lavrov after talks with Tillerson said that «they remembered how during the previous administration established a two-way channel of consultations between Moscow and Washington in addition to four, working within the framework of the Normandy format». As has noted then the Russian foreign Minister, Moscow has felt the interest of the current U.S. administration to continue bilateral contacts on this topic to help find practical ways to implement fully the Minsk agreements. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia also said that Russia would welcome such efforts and is ready for it.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the breakaway LC and the DNI, which declared independence after a coup in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN victims of the conflict began more than 10 thousand people.
