The German authorities opposed the arrival of the G20 summit, which will be held on 7-8 July in the German city of Hamburg, fighting with the demonstrators in Washington guards of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reports the newspaper Welt.

As writes the edition, the representatives of the government informed the Parliament in a closed session of the Bundestag.

The German secret services also fear that Erdogan’s visit will cause clashes between his supporters and opponents, with the participation, including the Turkish Diaspora and Kurds. It is noted that in Germany there are about 14 thousand supporters of the banned Kurdistan workers ‘ party (PKK), 600 of them in Hamburg.

During the visit of Turkish President to the USA in may there was a skirmish between his security guards and protesters near the residence of the Turkish Ambassador in Washington. Located in the American capital, Erdogan, according to video from the scene of the incident, personally, watched as his guards beat demonstrators. The state Department expressed Turkey’s protest. Ankara denied the accusations and said that the incident occurred due to the failure of the US authorities to take the necessary security measures.
