The US government to court in new York demanding that the charitable Fund allegedly controlled by Iran, refused the right of ownership to one of the city’s skyscrapers, reports the associated Press.

Assistant US attorney General Michael Lokard at the final hearings on Monday announced the existence of evidence that Alavi Foundation violated the sanctions imposed against Iran in 1995.

The Fund owns 60% of the building is located near Rockefeller center. Lawyers of the organization deny that it is relevant to the Iranian authorities.

The American government intends to use the proceeds from the sale of the building as compensation to the plaintiffs who are suing with Tehran on terrorism-related cases. The total amount of financial claims of these claims exceeds five billion dollars, the Agency said.
