The world record for the largest gathering of people dressed in national costumes set the residents of Yakutia in the summer holiday — Ysyakh in Yakutsk, said on Monday on the website of the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

It is noted that more than 16.6 thousand people came to the festival in their national costumes, breaking the previous record set in Romania.

«A unique event was recorded by the official Guinness Praveen Patel», — stated in the message.

It is noted that to attend the celebration, men should be in the Yakut coat with belt, women dress halladay and vest. These outfits can correspond to the historical Canon, are sewed from fabric and fur and decorated with beads.

Earlier Yakutia has set records for the largest round dance osuokhay, the biggest kumysopitiya and play on khomus. These records are also entered into the Guinness book.

Ysyakh is the summer festival in Yakutia, is celebrated on the summer solstice — June 21. On holiday arrange folk games, dancing, praying for the welfare, preparing lavish food and drink Mare’s milk. It is officially recognized as the most popular national holiday in Russia. This year the festival was visited by about 200 thousand people.
