The French authorities are concerned about the rising level of tension in Eastern Ukraine and call on all parties to respect the ceasefire, said the Deputy spokesman of the French foreign Ministry Alexander Giorgini.

«We are extremely concerned about the level of violence all along the line of contact, including the use of heavy weapons, which is prohibited by the Minsk agreements,» — said Giorgini at a briefing on Monday.

According to him, Paris insists on the need to respect the truce, which was agreed, in particular, on June 24 at the level of the Contact group.

Foreign Ministry spokesman also called unacceptable attempt to intimidate the staff of mission of observers of OSCE and vosprepyatstvovat its work. He noted that the agreed measures by the parties to resolve the situation need to be implemented immediately, while Moscow, for its part, needs to provide the necessary pressure on the militias.

Wednesday, June 21, the participants of the Contact group on settling the situation in Eastern Ukraine agreed on another ceasefire on the contact line in Donbass — the so-called bread peace for their harvest. It officially came into force at 00:00 Saturday, 24 June, and should last until August 31.
