Three of the five defendants in a new review of the case of the «Primorsky partisans» not pleaded guilty, two have refrained from comment, citing the Constitution, the correspondent of RIA news from the hall of the Primorsky regional court.

Monday began the third examination of the case «partisans». Maxim Kirillov, Alexey Nikitin, Vadim Kovtun not pleaded guilty. Vladimir Ilyutikov and Alexander Kovtun, answering the question of guilt, referred to article 51 of the Constitution («no One is obliged to testify against himself»).

The judge noted that on Tuesday at 10.00 (3.00 GMT) will be the continuation of meetings with the defendants.

The Supreme court at the end of December 2016 quashed the acquittal in the case of a gang «seaside guerrillas», which received wide acclaim in Russia after a series of high-profile killings of policemen and civilians, as well as robberies, carjackings and attacks on police stations in the far East. In June 2010, in Ussuriysk during the capture of the «partisans» armed resistance, was wounded two policemen and two members of the group committed suicide.

At the end of July 2016 at the retrial, the jury rendered a verdict of acquittal. The court again addressed the episode on the murder of four people in the Kirovsky district of Primorye, coupled with the assault and theft of drugs and valuables of the dead. Considering the evidence of the prosecution are not convincing enough, the jury returned all five defendants not guilty verdict. Alexey Nikitin, Vadim Kovtun was released in the courtroom, and Alexander Kovtun, Vladimir Ilyutikov and Maxim Kirillov remained in detention they have to serve the sentence for the counts for which they were convicted earlier.
