The government of Canada announced the decision to remove trade restrictions with Belarus, introduced more than a dozen years ago, it will enter into force on 12 July this year, reports channel CBC News.

The restrictions were introduced in 2006 amid concerns of the canadian authorities regarding non-compliance with human rights in Belarus.

«This decision means that Canada recognizes that the government of Belarus has advanced in key areas, including the release of political prisoners and the holding of peaceful presidential election in 2015» — leads the channel to the statement made by the government.

Thus, in the sanctions list Canada will be only the DPRK, said the TV channel.
