Moscow branch of «United Russia» addressed to the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin with a request to equip a single day of voting all polling stations with security cameras, reported the press service of the Moscow branch of the party on Tuesday.

Previously Deputy Chairman of the Central election Commission of Russia Nikolay Bulaev, commenting on the refusal of video surveillance on municipal elections in Moscow, said that the CEC stands for organization of video surveillance at polling stations during elections at all levels. At the same time, he noted, in the case of municipal and regional elections this issue is in the competence of the regional authorities.

«United Russia» made a proposal to the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin to equip a single day of voting all polling stations with security cameras,» — said the press service.

According to the Secretary of the Moscow branch of party Andrey Metelsky, this will increase the trust of citizens towards the electoral process.

«Muscovites expect from us is absolutely fair and transparent elections, and we should live up to their expectations. The more that this practice for Moscow already is a standard and integral part of the Moscow standard of the electoral process», – quotes the press service of the party words Metelsky.

He added that, despite the fact that Federal law does not require the video, «the party believes it necessary to use this tool of civil control in the municipal elections of 10 September.»
