The Chairman of the Committee on foreign relations of the Senate, Bob Corker has called «the best friends of Russia» Democrats, hampering the adoption of a new bill on sanctions against it, reports The Washington Post.

We are talking about the project on new measures against Iran and Russia, approved in the Senate earlier this month. The document, among other things, provides that the President, Donald trump may not cancel new sanctions without the consent of Congress.

Last week, the U.S. House of representatives sent the bill back to the Senate for revision because of a violation of «constitutional requirements» related to the possible impact on government revenues.

According to WP, the Democrats in the Senate believe that the Republicans in the House of representatives will not accept a corrected version of the document, instead making it more convenient for trump.

As noted in the article, because of the Democrats that prevent to pass the bill as quickly as possible, Corker «lost patience».

«You take a ridiculous position, not allowing our bill to reach the house of representatives, as long as you don’t know how it will react to the bill… It’s a strategy focused on the loss,» he explained.

According to him, the Democrats are «self harm» and «providing a service to Russia».

The Senate approved the bill earlier criticized in Germany and Austria. The head of the German foreign Ministry, Sigmar Gabriel and the Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern issued a joint statement in which they accused the United States in an effort to force Europe to buy U.S. liquefied gas.
