Kirov district court of Petersburg on Wednesday sanctioned the arrest of the alleged organizer of an extremist community, reported by RIA Novosti press-Secretary of the court Daria Lebedeva.

«The court has satisfied the petition of the investigator of the investigation service of the FSB of the arrest until July 30, a Russian citizen Magomed Akimova suspected of the organization of an extremist community», — said Lebedev.

As reported by RIA Novosti source in law enforcement bodies, Azimov was arrested Tuesday along with another suspect, a Tajik citizen Mizobata by Mirzosharipov.

According to the source, 31-year-old Achimov had previously been a witness in a criminal case of the St. Petersburg cell of «Hizb ut-Tahrir» and unsuccessfully tried to get political asylum in Sweden. The source also said that 44-year-old Myrzamurat Mirzosharipov lived illegally in Russia, in Tajikistan, he was declared wanted for involvement in terrorist activities. Earlier Mirzosharipov served 13-year sentence for terrorism. According to the source, the relatives of the detainees were aware of their participation in the activities of «Hizb ut-Tahrir». At the same time, law enforcement source claims that both detainees are related to the St. Petersburg cell of the international terrorist organization «Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami» (banned in Russia), which investigates regional Department of the FSB.
