The head of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratiev during the meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov proposed the inclusion of Sochi in the territory of the Russian Federation, where you will be introduced electronic visas for foreigners, the press service of the regional administration.

Meeting of foreign Minister and of the Governor of Kuban took place in Krasnodar, where on Wednesday opened the XIV conference of partner cities of Russia and Germany.

As noted by Kondratiev, today there is an increasing interest in the region from tourists from foreign countries. According to the authorities of the region, in 2016, the Kuban was visited by 900 thousand foreign tourists, which is 6% of the total number of visitors, while most of them come to Sochi.

The Governor considers that the number of tourists can be increased significantly, including the Olympic capital among the territories of Russia, which will operate an electronic visa for foreigners. «I hope that with Your support we will be able to provide the opportunity for tourists to freely come in Sochi», – said the head of the Kuban to the Minister. Earlier, the Russian government decided as an experiment to introduce electronic visa for Vladivostok and Kaliningrad region. According to Lavrov, as will be mastered this form of work, the Ministry will consider the appeal of the authorities of the Kuban.
