Investigators opened a case on the fact of the failure to provide timely medical aid pensioners in Yakutia, who had to climb the steps of the hospital due to a malfunctioning Elevator, according to the regional SU RF IC.

The test began after media reports that 79-the summer pensioner taken to hospital by ambulance, he died on the stairs in the hospital, as he was forced to own up to the second floor with disabled lift.

The investigators found that the ambulance man arrived within 20-30 minutes after the call, the patient moved independently and with the help of his friend. Earlier the pensioner has repeatedly appealed for help in connection with disease of the heart.

«On arrival to the hospital the paramedic went to a mobile stretcher and in her absence, for 10 minutes, the pensioner alone, and also with the help of a friend, with pauses climbed the stairs to the building and inside medical facilities flights of stairs. The investigators found that the facility the lift was faulty. Within one hour after admission to the hospital, the man died in the intensive care unit», — stated in the message.

Investigators opened a criminal case under article «causing death by negligence due to improper performance of their professional duties» upon failure to provide timely assistance to the pensioner.
